Lawrenceville Gets $40 Million Present from Kroger’s Atlanta Division

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the doors of Kroger’s new Martins ChapelMarketplace located at 1006 Martins Chapel Road in Lawrenceville will open for business.
According to Atlanta Division President Victor Smith, Martins Chapel Marketplace is Kroger’s first new store in Gwinnett County since 2011 and represents a $40 million capital investment. It will encompass 123,000 square feet, with a drive-thru pharmacy and adjacent fuel center.
“We recognize Kroger’s unique role in the communities we serve. As an employer, food processor, retailer, healthcare provider and more, we have a responsibility to lead with purpose and create positive change,” Smith said. “ Kroger has been a long-standing partner with the Gwinnett community for more than 50 years and we look forward to continuing to serve our Gwinnett County customers for years to come
In addition to Kroger’s traditional departments such as bakery, deli, meat, floral and fresh produce, the store will include a Murray’s Cheese Shop, Culinary Kiosk, Kitchen Place, Apparel and Starbucks.
Additionally, Kroger customers will be greeted with a dynamic mural designed by Atlanta artist Helen Choi. Her mural is a compelling depiction of Lawrenceville’s vibrant community, cultural diversity, natural beauty, rich heritance and iconic structures, including Martin’s Chapel.
