BankSouth Appoints Michelle Misere as Chief Compliance & Risk Officer

BankSouth, a leading financial institution serving communities across Georgia, proudly announces Michelle Misere, CRCM, as its new Chief Compliance and Risk Officer. 

With over 15 years of experience in mortgage and banking compliance, Misere brings a deep understanding of regulatory standards and strategic insight to her new position. Since joining BankSouth Mortgage in 2009, she has played a pivotal role in navigating the ever-changing regulatory landscape, ensuring both compliance and the consistent delivery of exceptional service. 

During her tenure as Interim Compliance and Risk Officer, Misere demonstrated exemplary leadership, integrating with BankSouth and BankSouth Mortgage’s compliance and project teams to foster a culture centered on integrity and accountability.

As a graduate of the Georgia Banking Association’s Compliance School and a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Misere has further distinguished herself as a thought leader in the industry. She has shared her expertise on compliance strategies and best practices at numerous conferences and forums across the U.S., solidifying her reputation as an influential voice in the field.
