Swift Currie Continues Expansion this Fall with Three New Hires in Atlanta

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP is excited to announce the addition of three new associates to the firm’s Atlanta office. Brittne Ballenger-Jackson and Dejay Patel join the Litigation section and Shepherd Bridges will be joining the Workers’ Compensation group.

Brittne Ballenger-Jackson joins the firm as an associate with the Litigation practice group. Before joining the firm, Ballenger-Jackson was a claim representative for an insurance company where she worked with insurance agents, attorneys, employers/insured, injured clients and medical staff. She has experience counseling clients in the areas of family law, insurance subrogation and personal injury from the plaintiff’s side. While in law school, she founded the Family Law Society at the Georgia State University College of Law, assisted in planning two National Conventions of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA), served as the National Membership Director of NBLSA and was the lead graduate technical assistant for the Georgia State University College of Law Library. She earned her law degree from Georgia State, a paralegal certificate from Clayton State University and two undergraduate degrees from DeVry University.
Dejay Patel joins the firm as an associate with the Litigation practice group. He previously focused his practice on commercial litigation, representing corporate, business and government entities. While in law school, Patel served as a member of the Student Bar Association and the Business Law Society and volunteered with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, participating in landlord/tenant matters. He earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
Shepherd Bridges joins the firm as an associate with the Workers’ Compensation practice group. He previously counseled clients in high-stakes contractual disputes and defended clients in insurance cases. While in law school, Bridges served as the executive managing editor of the Georgia Criminal Law Review, UGA Mock Trial executive board member, Mock Trial 2023 AAJ Regional Champion and Mock Trial 2024 Shark Beach Showdown Finalist. He earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Baylor University.
