Wednesday, January 8th, 2025
The City of Atlanta announced that Chief Procurement Officer Jaideep Majumdar has decided to step down to pursue other opportunities. We sincerely thank Mr. Majumdar for his dedicated service and contributions to the City and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
With his departure, we are pleased to welcome Attorney Chandra Houston as Interim Chief Procurement Officer, selected for her exceptional leadership skills, extensive legal expertise and proven ability to drive operational excellence in procurement and municipal governance. Attorney Houston currently serves as Deputy City Attorney of the Business Services Division in the Department of Law.
Prior to serving as Deputy City Attorney, Houston served as Division Chief of the Contracts Management Services Team, where she standardized contract language and negotiation processes. She achieved this through the redevelopment, refinement and creation of contract templates, as well as the development of the Department’s first Negotiation Playbook for Procurement and other City Contracts.
A proud graduate of Howard University School of Law and Georgia State University, Houston brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, including more than 30 years of legal and corporate leadership, and also developed Georgia-Pacific’s first compliance and ethics program.
