Campbell-Stone Celebrates 60th Anniversary: Unwavering Commitment to Affordable Housing for Atlanta Seniors
Wednesday, February 26th, 2025
Campbell-Stone, a leading provider of safe, affordable, and quality housing for seniors since 1964, celebrated its 60th anniversary with the grand reveal of its newly renovated lobby and bistro at its Buckhead campus. The celebration was centered around the organization’s continued dedication to the well-being of aging adults and its role as a champion for subsidized senior living in Atlanta.
According to a report published by the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, “Housing America’s Older Adults,” fewer than 15% of single adults aged 75 or older can afford both the costs of housing and long-term care (LTC) services such as in-home medical care, household support services, or assisted living facilities.
As the population of older adults is increasing at historic rates, Campbell-Stone remains dedicated to ensuring that Atlanta’s aging adults never have to choose between affordable housing and a safe, caring community.
"We’re proud of the progress we’ve made over the past 60 years, but the work is far from over," said Maria Manahan, CEO of Campbell-Stone. "Providing senior housing is more critical than ever, and our mission is to ensure that all seniors in Atlanta not only have a place to live, but a place to thrive. We are excited about the future and the ongoing impact we can make in our community."
City of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock both contributed remarks for the ceremony, while the Fulton County Board of Commissioners proclaimed January 16, 2025, as “Campbell-Stone Senior Living Appreciation Day.”
The revitalized space reinforces the organization’s commitment to creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for residents while maintaining affordability and dignity in senior living. Looking ahead, Campbell-Stone seeks to grow philanthropic support from individuals and the corporate and foundation community to help seniors age in place with dignity through its Personal Care Program.
