Masýa’s journey into the industry began with an internship at Industrial Media in Brookhaven, Georgia. During this time, he worked closely with executives, gaining firsthand insight into production coordination and the hiring process. This experience provided him with a solid foundation and a deep understanding of how productions come together. Shortly after, he took on a role as a COVID Production Assistant in the camera department for AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” This position gave him invaluable on-set experience, allowing him to learn from seasoned professionals and immerse himself in the fast-paced world of filmmaking.

His dedication and growing expertise led him to join IATSE Local 600. Since then, he has advanced to the role of Digital Loader in the camera union. Through determination, skill, and commitment to his craft, Masýa has begun taking on projects as a Director of Photography, further solidifying his place in the industry.

Over the past few years, Masýa has built an impressive resume, contributing to major films such as “The Woman in the Yard,” “The Exorcist: Believer,” “Elevation,” and “Reptile.” His television work includes popular series like “Will Trent,” “Black Mafia Family,” “Peacemaker,” and “Tulsa King.” He has collaborated with industry-leading studios such as Blumhouse Productions, Netflix, and Starz. One of the most rewarding moments of his career so far was working as a camera operator for a network television show, where he had the surreal experience of seeing his shots make it to the screen. The excitement of watching his work unfold on TV was a validation of his hard work and a testament to the trust placed in him by the production team.

Looking ahead, Masýa aspires to become a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, a highly regarded milestone for cinematographers. He remains focused on capturing compelling stories that resonate with audiences and contribute to meaningful storytelling.
