Japanese-Modern Restaurant Brings Bold Flavors to the Atlanta BeltLine
Monday, February 10th, 2025
National developer Portman today announces that Yuji, an innovative, Japanese-modern restaurant by Kinjo Enterprise, LLC, has begun opening at Junction Krog District, a Class-A office building fronting the Atlanta BeltLine. With an official opening planned for later this month, Yuji has started debuting its Kaiseki-inspired menu and alluring dining experience to the BeltLine’s vibrant Eastside Trail.
As the latest flagship restaurant from the creator behind Atlanta’s top Japanese and sushi concepts, Yuji is located on the ground floor of Junction Krog District and directly connected to the building’s expansive public porch. It features two outdoor bars designed to accommodate Atlanta BeltLine pedestrians, as well as a 1,700-square-foot patio serving cocktails, beer and sake on draft. For added convenience, Yuji has a walk-up window with a touchscreen display for to-go orders. Yuji’s innovative menu features artistic dishes like Umami Wagyu, blistered shishito peppers and branzino, along with thoughtfully crafted mocktails such as the Herbsonic, Yuji Cobbler and Forever Summer. During its soft opening period, Yuji will be closed on Mondays. For the latest hours of operation, visit its Instagram.
"Junction Krog District’s prime location along the BeltLine’s bustling corridor perfectly captures the energy and foot traffic that will bring Yuji to life,” said Kinjo. “Guests can expect an elegant and sophisticated Japanese dining experience, featuring contemporary flavors and culinary techniques inspired by the intrigue and excitement of Kyoto.”
Junction Krog District is located at the corner of Irwin Street and Auburn Avenue and across from Krog Street Market. The development features 135,000 square feet of Class-A office space with private terraces, as well as a 7,000-square-foot public porch that Portman has activated with public art, including "Convergence," an awe-inspiring sculpture by Atlanta-based artist Kevin Chambers. In addition to Yuji, Brash Coffee Roasters recently opened at the building, bringing its thoughtfully crafted coffee and cocktail beverages to the BeltLine. YEPPA&co, a hospitality-driven Italian concept, will open this summer.
"Junction Krog District offers unmatched proximity to the energy and charm that defines the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood,” said Dotan Zuckerman, Head of Retail Development at Portman. “We are committed to curating exceptional, true-to-Atlanta concepts that align with our vision of creating a community-driven destination. Kinjo’s restaurants have become a staple of Atlanta’s dining scene, and Yuji represents the culmination of his lifelong passion for creative Japanese cuisine. This opening is instrumental in bringing our vision of an activated, BeltLine-fronting mixed-use community to life.”
Also in Atlanta, Portman is developing Spring Quarter, a mixed-use campus centered around the historic HM Patterson Home and Gardens. Last year, Portman delivered Sora, a luxury residential tower, and Ten Twenty Spring, a 525,000-square-foot Class-A office tower. This year, Portman will continue delivering Spring Quarter’s best-in-class retail and restaurant lineup, which includes Sozou, a new Japanese concept from Chef Fuyuhiko Ito, Habaneros, a contemporary, new-to-market Mexican restaurant, and more to be announced soon.
