WorkSource Fulton development board held its first strategic meeting of the year on February 11.  The meeting set the stage for continued progress in workforce development and job readiness programs across Fulton County.  The meeting emphasized performance and accountability, highlighting significant achievements in youth workforce initiatives and key federal policy updates.

The Youth Committee reported exceptional results, exceeding performance metrics in credential attainment, measurable skills gains, employment placement, and median earnings. Currently, 107 youth are engaged in the program, benefiting from critical training and career development opportunities.

One of the most inspiring moments of the meeting was a success story shared about a 17-year-old participant who entered WorkSource Fulton’s program as an in-school youth, later transitioning to an out-of-school youth. With the program’s support, she earned her GED on her first attempt, advanced through a company's management track, launched her own business, and is now pursuing an advanced degree. She credited WorkSource Fulton with playing a pivotal role in her success.

Brett Lacy, Deputy Director, Select Fulton provided a WorkSource Fulton services update.  Lacy detailed the progress in workforce initiatives that help connect job seekers with meaningful employment and training. The board also welcomed Stephanie FisherPresident of the Georgia Restaurant Association, as a new member. Jessica Corbitt, Director, External Affairs, Fulton County Government, delivered a federal policy update. The update outlined potential workforce development impacts and opportunities for collaboration at the national level.  With a strong start to the year, WorkSource Fulton continues its mission to empower job seekers and strengthen the workforce in Fulton County.
