The 1st Annual Cajun Beats & Eats Festival is set to bring the vibrant flavors, sounds, and culture of Louisiana to Georgia! Hosted by the Georgia Regional Sports Council in collaboration with the City of Conyers and Rockdale County, this family-friendly festival promises an unforgettable experience packed with live music, authentic Creole and Cajun cuisine, a high-stakes Gumbo Competition, and much more.

Featured Gumbo Chefs:
A lineup of culinary experts will showcase their skills in the highly anticipated Gumbo Competition, including:
  • Chef Julian Baker – A seasoned chef with a passion for Louisiana cuisine and extensive experience in Atlanta’s top restaurants.
  • Chef TwiWanda DeVauld-Bryant – Known as "The Magnolia Peach," she blends Southern comfort food with global culinary influences.
  • Chef Paul Harris – An award-winning chef from Nevis, with 30 years of fine dining expertise.
  • Chef Desmond Jerrod – A U.S. Army and Navy veteran specializing in international BBQ.
  • Marc Wegman – A restaurateur with decades of experience in authentic Louisiana cooking.
AND STUDENT CHEFS:
  • Chef Cameron Byron
    Cameron Byron’s culinary passion was sparked by his grandmother and nurtured under the mentorship of Certified Master Chef Shular. A dedicated aspiring master chef, he captains his high school’s culinary team and helps run his mother’s catering business.

  • Carlos Windham
    Carlos Windham, an 11th grader at Stephenson High School, has been cooking since age four, inspired by time spent in the kitchen with his grandmother and great-grandmother. Now, he continues their legacy while adding his own creative touch. With a passion for food and a strong foundation in math and science, Carlos dreams of developing sustainable farm-to-table programs that promote accessibility and community health.
