Goodwill of North Georgia, one of the largest retail operations and workforce training agencies in Georgia with a mission to put people to work, has released newly published data showcasing its latest workforce development impact, providing fresh insights into how the organization is addressing employment disparities and creating economic opportunities for women job seekers. The newly published figures underscore the organization’s continued efforts to address employment disparities and create economic opportunities for women across North Georgia.
Released in conjunction with Women’s History Month, the data highlights the progress made in supporting economic opportunities and mobility for women workers. The data reaffirms Goodwill of North Georgia’s role in equipping job seekers with the skills and resources needed to build sustainable careers. As one of the largest workforce development organizations in the region, Goodwill of North Georgia remains dedicated to breaking down barriers to employment and empowering women through job training and career placement.

Goodwill of North Georgia’s Impact on Women Job Seekers
In Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), Goodwill of North Georgia made a profound impact in supporting women’s workforce development:

25,174 women were served through career services and job training programs.

10,259 women successfully secured employment through Goodwill’s job placement efforts.

Over the past ten years, Goodwill of North Georgia has served 249,263 women and placed 110,204 in new jobs.

Goodwill of North Georgia’s tailored job training programs provide essential skills that empower women to secure stable, high-paying jobs. Among women job seekers, the top five enrolled programs include:

GoodBiz – Supporting women entrepreneurs in launching and growing their own businesses.

Technology & Careers – Providing digital literacy, IT certifications, and career pathways in technology.

Retail-Customer Service – Equipping women with skills for frontline roles in retail and customer service industries.

Highway Construction – Offering hands-on training for women entering the construction sector.

Phlebotomy – Preparing individuals for careers in healthcare, one of the fastest-growing industries.
Serving Underserved Communities
Goodwill of North Georgia serves a diverse population, with a significant concentration of women job seekers from DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Clayton counties. The organization remains committed to supporting individuals who face additional employment challenges. In FY24 alone:

989 women with criminal backgrounds received career support, with 418 securing jobs.

3,823 young women (ages 16-24) were served, with 1,947 placed into jobs.

613 women with disabilities received assistance, with 148 successfully placed in employment.

552 women veterans received job training, with 227 securing employment opportunities.
