Monday, March 17th, 2025
Six Flags Over Georgia is set to open its gates for another season of excitement and family fun on Saturday, March 15, with a major highlight being the debut of the Georgia Gold Rusher, a revolutionary new roller coaster. This cutting-edge ride promises to deliver unforgettable thrills to park visitors.
"As the park's 12th coaster and the world's first free-spinning gondola coaster, this attraction represents our team's commitment to delivering unmatched thrills, immersive entertainment, and lifelong memories," said Greg Fuller, the general manager of Six Flags Over Georgia. "With the introduction of a new roller coaster and numerous enhancements throughout the park, this season will build on our legacy, bringing new energy and excitement for our loyal fans and future park guests."
Georgia Gold Rusher is a one-of-a-kind roller coaster featuring free-spinning gondola seating, providing a unique experience with every ride. Guests board one of two gondolas that face outward, and are launched back and forth on a 590-foot, U-shaped track at speeds of 60 mph, reaching heights up to 144 feet. The ride offers three gravity-defying "airtime" moments (feeling weightless) as riders navigate gravity stall ramps and four thrilling airtime sensations on the coaster's central hill.

The park is also enhancing its dining experience with the introduction of three new dining concepts, fresh menu options, and improved service operations. Additionally, the park has appointed a new executive chef to oversee a refreshed culinary vision.
Six Flags Over Georgia will operate on weekends from March 15 through May 18, with daily operations during Spring Break from April 5 to April 13. The Hurricane Harbor water park will open on May 24, and the 2025 season includes a range of special events, including new festivals like Summerbration (May 31 to July 29) and returning favorites like Holiday in the Park (Nov. 22 to Jan. 4).
