Thompson Atlanta – Buckhead is proud to announce that General Manager, Donte Johnson, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB). This prestigious appointment underscores Johnson’s dedication to Atlanta’s hospitality industry and his commitment to enhancing the city’s position as a premier travel destination. Johnson will collaborate with industry leaders to drive tourism growth, support local businesses, and contribute to Atlanta’s dynamic hospitality sector, all day-to-day pillars in his work with the hotel.

With an extensive background in hospitality leadership, Johnson has played a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience at Thompson Atlanta – Buckhead, a luxury lifestyle hotel known for its elevated service and vibrant community engagement. Currently, Johnson holds roles on International Luxury Hotel Association National Advisory Board, Procure Impact Advisory Board, Hyatt Global DEI Council, and is the America Hotel & Lodging Association GM Roundtable Co-Chair, in addition to ACVB. Previous roles include spots on Maryland Hotel Lodging Association Board of Directors, Visit Baltimore Board of Directors, and Hotel Association of Washington, D.C. Board of Directors. 
 
Under Donte Johnson’s leadership, Thompson Atlanta – Buckhead has earned both national acclaim and local recognition. In 2024, Condé Nast Traveler named the hotel No. 10 in its Readers’ Choice Awards for the Top 25 Hotels in the South.
