Constangy Appoints Darrick McDuffie as Co-Chair of Trade Secrets & Unfair Competition Practice Group

Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete is pleased to announce the appointment of Darrick McDuffie, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia office, as co-chair of the Trade Secrets & Unfair Competition Practice Group. He will serve alongside Jackie Johnson, a partner based in Texas.

With more than two decades of legal experience, Darrick is a respected advocate for businesses navigating complex workplace legal issues. His practice focuses on workplace investigations involving discrimination and harassment claims, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) investigations, employment discrimination lawsuits, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective actions and trade secrets and restrictive covenant litigation, including non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.
Darrick is known for his ability to craft practical, cost-effective legal strategies tailored to clients’ business objectives. His leadership and legal acumen have earned him numerous professional accolades, including being named in the 2025 The Best Lawyers in America® awards for Labor and Employment Litigation, recognized as a Top 40 Litigation Lawyer Under 40 in Georgia by the American Society of Legal Advocates in both 2013 and 2014 and highlighted as part of the 2014 Lawyers of Color’s Second Annual Hot List.
Beyond his legal practice, Darrick is deeply engaged in professional organizations and community initiatives as a member of the American Bar Association, host committee member of the 2014 Annual Convention & Exhibits of the National Bar Association, board member of the Atlanta Bar association in 2015 and 2016, current vice-chair of the Justice Benham Law Camp and co-founder and co-chair of the Youth and the Law Summit.
He earned his J.D. from Harvard University and graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in criminal justice.
