Dunwoody Nature Center’s “Monarchs & Margaritas” Returns May 10th

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Tuesday, April 29th, 2025

Dunwoody Nature Center invites the community to celebrate spring and the power of local impact at its signature fundraising event, Monarchs & Margaritas, taking place Saturday, May 10, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. This beloved annual gathering blends the vibrant energy of a fiesta with the mission-driven purpose of environmental preservation, creating an unforgettable night that gives back to nature while bringing the community together.

This year’s event draws inspiration from the majestic migration of the Monarch butterfly—an extraordinary journey that connects Georgia to the mountains of Mexico, where millions of Monarchs spend the winter months.

The event will honor this natural phenomenon with an evening incorporating Mexican culture along with environmental purpose. Guests will enjoy Mexican cuisine, tequila tastings by Flecha Azul, and the lively sounds of traditional Mariachi music echoing through the trees of the Nature Center.

In addition to the evening’s culinary and musical delights, the event will feature a live auction, as well as raffles offering one-of-a-kind experiences, exclusive items, and more—all in support of the Dunwoody Nature Center.

Proceeds from Monarchs & Margaritas directly support environmental education, conservation programming, and capacity building for the Nature Center, ensuring that future generations can continue to learn from and thrive in nature.

Tickets are available at several levels to suit individuals, couples, and groups looking to make an impact. Individual tickets include admission to the event, dinner, and unlimited cocktails. For those looking to elevate their experience,

Host Tickets offer a reserved table for four along with recognition on eventmaterials and the Nature Center’s website. Patron Tickets include a reserved table for eight, VIP parking, and premium recognition across all event signage and promotions.

For businesses and individuals wishing to support at a higher level, sponsorship opportunities are available. “Monarchs & Margaritas is our most exciting event of the year. It’s more than a celebration—it’s an invitation to be part of something meaningful, ” says Nancy Longacre, Executive Director of Dunwoody Nature Center. “Every ticket and sponsorship helps fund educational programs, conservation efforts, and experiences that connect people of all ages to the natural world.

The event will be held at Dunwoody Nature Center, located at 5343 Roberts Drive in Dunwoody, GA. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as the event is expected to sell out.
