Agnes Scott College's Chief Financial Officer, Nicole Long has been named CFO of the Year in Education by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The annual awards honor chief financial officers who have provided outstanding leadership within their companies and industries.
“This award is truly an honor – not just for me but for the entire finance administration team at Agnes Scott,” said Long. “I’m proud to serve at an institution where my passion for mentorship, open communication and mutual respect can be nurtured, and where diverse perspectives form the basis for outstanding accomplishments.”
Since coming to Agnes Scott in 2023, Long has accumulated a number of impressive accomplishments, including leading a major renovation project; analyzing enrollment and discount rate strategies to boost net tuition revenue; navigating complex changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid process; and fostering a stronger relationship with the college’s outsourced facilities partner.
She has also championed a $10 million renovation for a new Physician Assistant program and is working with the college’s vice president of advancement on a five-year plan to grow the school’s endowment in the face of potential federal funding losses.
Prior to joining Agnes Scott, Long served as senior finance director for Westrock’s $3 billion Consumer Packaging division. She also previously served as group finance director for The Coca-Cola Company, managing the financial governance relationship between the company’s retail sales organization and its bottlers. While there, she led negotiations with major retailers such as CVS and Walgreens, while overseeing crucial system implementations and consolidating bottler P&Ls.
Long holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Florida A&M University.
