Kroger’s Atlanta Division and MUST Ministries Unveil New School Food Pantry
Thursday, May 15th, 2025
Kroger’s Atlanta Division, MUST Ministries and Dunleith Elementary unveiled the school’s new food pantry today. The new pantry will serve students and families in need, providing non-perishable food, produce and meat, as well as diapers and hygiene products.
The Dunleith Elementary School Pantry in Marietta, Georgia, will be the fourth pantry supported by Kroger’s $207,000 donation to help MUST Ministries expand in-school pantries and create new pantries.
“We are continuing to fulfill Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste mission. Step by step and school by school, we are silencing the hunger in the communities we serve,” said Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Together with MUST Ministries and dedicated educators, we are building a roadmap for fighting hunger in schools, ensuring students can focus on learning and not if they will have enough to eat.”
MUST Ministries addresses the basic needs of individuals, families and children with facilities in Cobb and Cherokee counties, as well as programs in numerous other Metro Atlanta counties.
“This new Neighborhood Pantry is going provide much-needed food and supplies to children who sometimes have to wonder when they will be able to eat next,” said MUST President & CEO Dr. Ike Reighard. “We are very grateful for Kroger’s continued support of the MUST Neighborhood Pantry program and their commitment to making sure no child has to go hungry.”
In November of 2024, MUST Ministries announced a new partnership with Kroger and its vendors to expand MUST’s Neighborhood Pantry program, which feeds metro Atlanta students across 100 schools through pantries embedded in schools and the community. Kroger is providing $207,000 over two years to support MUST’s initiative to provide fresh, healthy food for students in need and their families.
In addition to the new Dunleith Elementary School food pantry, Kroger and MUST Ministries have expanded pantries at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, Cobb Horizon High School and Cherokee High School.
