Children’s Museum of Atlanta Celebrates Father’s Day, Juneteenth and Pride this Month

Children’s Museum of Atlanta marks June with a lineup of programs celebrating Pride Month, Juneteenth and Father’s Day. Through hands-on sessions, live performances and storytelling, the Museum invites families to explore and appreciate diverse cultures and communities all month long. Daily story times highlight books about love and inclusion, and kids analyze electricity at the Science Bar, design LOVE-inspired art and build musical instruments. Father’s Day is honored with themed crafts and Juneteenth is observed with a special, live performance from Djoli Kelen. Visitors can also dive into SCOOBY-DOO!™ Mansion Mayhem, where young sleuths team up with the Mystery Inc. gang to solve a playful mystery. Learn more at childrensmuseumatlanta.org.

Pride Month

Through Tuesday, July 1
Children’s Museum of Atlanta is celebrating Pride Month with daily readings of “Love Makes a Family” by Sophie Beer, a story that highlights the many shapes and sizes of families, emphasizing love as the common thread. Storytime also includes “Worm Loves Worm” by J.J. Austrian, presented with puppets and props in an engaging tale about wedding planning between two worms. At the Science Bar, kids learn about static and current electricity while discovering the contributions of LGBTQ activist and engineer Lynn Conway. Additionally, LOVE-inspired art and music-making inspired by Sister Rosetta Tharpe take place in Jane’s Innovation Station.

Science Bar: Static vs. Current Electricity
Junior scientists will celebrate the life and legacy of LGBTQ activist and engineer Lynn Conway by exploring how different forms of electricity work and flow.

Art Studio: LOVE Letters
Budding artists and their caregivers learn about Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE sculpture and create a four-letter art piece using stencils!

Jane’s Innovation Station: Make an Instrument
Activities acknowledge the legacy of music innovator Sister Rosetta Tharpe with children inventing a one-of-a-kind instrument to properly “rock out.”

Pride Month Celebration
Sunday, June 15

The Museum commemorates Pride Month with festivities featuring an annual show by the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus. All are welcome to lift up LGBTQIA+ community members and allies.

Participate in interactive programming that spotlights African American culture and history. Kids and their parents explore the significance of the holiday through storytelling, music and art designed to inspire reflection and celebration of freedom.

SCOOBY-DOO!™ Mansion Mayhem

May 17 – Sept. 7, 2025

SCOOBY-DOO! and the gang invite families to solve a gem of a mystery. This celebratory experience, created by Children’s Museum of Indianapolis in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences (WBDGE), asks kids and caretakers to combine forces with the members of Mystery Inc. to analyze clues and put their problem-solving skills to the test. Families and young detectives will work through the rooms of the mansion meeting different characters of the iconic TV show that has captivated fans for more than 50 years. Little ones will also have the chance to unmask the jewel thief and discover secrets of the mansion!
