Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Hendrickson to Lead ACCG Economic Development and Transportation Policy Committee
Monday, June 30th, 2025
Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson was recently reappointed as Chair of the Economic Development and Transportation Policy Committee for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia. The appointment was made by ACCG President and Dougherty County Commissioner Clinton Johnson.
Hendrickson said the committee’s upcoming plan update will help the County refine and strengthen its long-term vision for the district.
“I couldn’t be more excited about what this moment represents - not just for our County but for the people we serve every day,” said Hendrickson. “This is progress in action and it’s the result of collaboration, commitment and a deep belief in what’s possible when we work together. I’m proud to see our vision come to life in such a meaningful way.”
Through a consensus-based policy development process, ACCG policy committees craft positions on key issues impacting county government. These positions are later approved by the full association membership as ACCG Policy Priorities, which guide the association’s advocacy efforts during the legislative session.
“Advocacy is a foundational aspect of our organization, and our policy committee leaders are essential to our efforts,” said ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills. “ACCG prioritizes being a member-driven organization. Our Governmental Affairs staff is eager to collaborate with these new leaders to drive meaningful change on issues that matter to all Georgia counties.”
The Economic Development and Transportation Policy Committee is responsible for identifying innovative state, regional and local economic development policies and strategies that support sustained growth throughout Georgia. In addition to addressing tax and investment policy and workforce development, the committee also works toward building a comprehensive, interconnected multimodal transportation system that serves all parts of the state.
Chairwoman Hendrickson will lead the committee alongside Effingham County Commissioner Jamie DeLoach who was named Vice Chair.
