Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, June 20th, 2025

Lenox Square is proud to host the Who’s Who in Asian American Communities (WWAAC) Alliance Foundation’s AsianFest, an immersive celebration of Asian cultures, for the first time since 2019. The event, now in its sixth year at Lenox Square, will take place on Saturday, June 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the center’s Luxury Wing. Admission is free and open to the public.

AsianFest, presented in partnership with the WWAAC Alliance Foundation, celebrates the heritage and diversity of Asian cultures through dance, costumes, instrumental performances, and educational displays. The event underscores Lenox Square’s dedication to building meaningful connections with Atlanta’s growing Asian American community.

“Lenox Squae is honored once again to be the home of AsianFest, an entertaining and educational event celebrating Asian heritage, inclusion, and connection,” said Lenox Square General Manager Robin Suggs. “With Georgia experiencing the second-fastest growth among Asian Americans in the South, this event offers the community a unique opportunity to witness the richness of Asian cultures and recognize the significant contributions Asian Americans continue to make in our city.”

The 2025 program will feature a mix of live performances and ceremonial presentations, beginning with a powerful Lion Dance by the Chien Hong School of Kung Fu, a traditional dance believed to bring good luck. Attendees will also enjoy performances by the Phayanak Dance Crew, an Indian dance routine by the award-winning Garima Dance Academy, and lively music from the Eisa Taiko Drum Group, known for their theatrical Japanese drumming.

Distinguished guest speakers will include Georgia Supreme Court Justice Carla Wong McMillian, the first Asian Pacific American to serve on a state’s highest court in the South; Philippine Honorary Consul General Raoul “Ray” Donato; and Japan Consul General Mio Maeda.

The event will conclude with an electrifying cultural fashion show, featuring traditional attire from more than a dozen Asian countries, regions, and tribes. Accompanied by authentic music, models will showcase native costumes, headwear, footwear, and accessories that reflect centuries of tradition and artistry

The WWAAC Alliance Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 2011, is dedicated to advancing the lives of Asian Americans, celebrating their contributions, and promoting understanding of their diverse cultures.
