Atlanta Public Schools Announces Raises for Bus Drivers, Custodians, Paraprofessionals, & Nurses
Monday, July 21st, 2025
Atlanta Public Schools has announced another financial commitment to its frontline employees.
As a result of a re-prioritization of budgeted dollars for FY26, APS bus drivers, custodians, and paraprofessionals will receive a 10 percent salary increase. Additionally, school nurses will receive a market adjustment as well, (1% registered nurses and 2% for licensed practical nurses). All APS employees will receive a salary step increment this upcoming school year.
On the heels of last year’s 11 percent raise for teachers, this $9.3 million investment is in keeping with the district’s commitment to being intentional about showing gratitude to, and respect for, its frontline employees who impact students on a daily basis.
“I want to thank and give credit to the Atlanta Board of Education for continuing to support these financial initiatives for our hardworking staff members amid an increasingly challenging fiscal landscape,” said APS Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson. “Their support affirms the importance of investing in the people who power our mission, and who educate, support, and care for the students of Atlanta Public Schools.”
