Becky Kurtz, ARC’s Senior Managing Director of Aging and Independence Services, has been elected to serve on USAging’s Board of Directors.  Her three-year tenure began on during the 50th USAging Conference and Tradeshow in Chicago.

Kurtz represents Region IV on the Board, which includes the Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. These agencies provide older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers with the services and assistance they need to thrive.

“I’m honored to serve on the USAging Board of Directors and represent Region IV,” Kurtz said. “USAging has a powerful impact on how communities nationwide support older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers. I’m excited to contribute to that work by sharing ideas, shaping policy, and strengthening the aging network in ways that help people live with dignity, choice, and connection.”

The USAging Board of Directors leads initiatives that support AAAs across the country. The board oversees the organization’s governance by making sure the mission is achieved while upholding accountability for its operations.

In addition to their governance roles, board members are active participants in USAging’s standing committees, which include the Conference, Corporate Relations, Membership, and Public Policy and Grassroots committees. These committees provide input on the association’s activities and strategic direction.

The USAging Board typically convenes in person four times a year, including at the annual Answers on Aging Conference and Tradeshow. Additionally, the board members participate in monthly conference calls to stay updated and engaged with ongoing activities and decisions.

Kurtz’s election to the board represents an important milestone, bringing her dedicated and insightful contributions to USAging’s ongoing efforts. Her experience and commitment are expected to offer valuable insights and inspire positive changes that will benefit the AAAs and the communities they serve.
