Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Appoints Angela Flanigan as Executive Director

The Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Georgia AAP) is proud to announce the appointment of Angela Flanigan, MBA, CAE, CMP, as its new Executive Director, effective July 21, 2025.
Ms. Flanigan brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare associations and nonprofits, with a distinguished record in strategic planning, operational excellence, and mission-driven growth. She most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP), where she was instrumental in expanding partnerships, enhancing operational efficiency, and leading high-impact initiatives.
During her time at ACLP, Angela effectively oversaw a grant from a prominent global entertainment and media company, established a needs-based grant initiative, and managed the nationally acclaimed Emotional Safety Summit, bringing together pediatric care professionals to enhance emotional safety in healthcare environments.
Prior to ACLP, Angela held leadership roles at the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, where she managed a multimillion-dollar operating budget, secured grant funding, and led statewide board training and educational initiatives to support family medicine.
Through the years, her association management leadership has cultivated partnerships that led to published research and joint grant proposals aimed at advancing family medicine and pediatric care. Her collaborative approach and dedication to child health make her an outstanding choice to lead our organization into its next chapter.
