PALS Atlanta Celebrates 35 Years of Service with Pride Grand Marshal honor & August Gala
Monday, July 21st, 2025
Pets Are Loving Support (PALS Atlanta) is pulling out all the stops – celebrating its 35th anniversary and being named a Grand Marshal of Atlanta’s 2025 Pride celebrations. The beloved nonprofit, which ensures Atlantans living with critical illness and disability can keep their pets at home with them, will host a gala celebration Aug. 23, 2025 at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park.
“For 35 years, we’ve stood by the belief that pets are family,” says Executive Director Tommy Burkhalter Lazaro. “That commitment has guided us through the AIDS crisis, a pandemic and countless personal journeys of healing. This year, we’re honored to be recognized by Atlanta Pride – and thrilled to invite our community to help us mark this milestone with joy, gratitude and a little glitter.”
The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Park Tavern Garden Tent and will feature music, dancing, great food, drinks, silent and live auctions, special guests and a few surprises. Guests will help honor PALS’ work over three and a half decades of keeping people and pets together – and look ahead to what’s next.
“This celebration is for everyone who’s been part of our journey – volunteers, donors, clients and allies,” Lazaro adds. “Help us build a future where no one has to choose between their health and their beloved animal companion.”
Early bird tickets are available through July 31 at $80 per person ($125 VIP) and include drinks and exclusive swag. After July 31, prices rise to $100 ($150 VIP). Sponsorships are also available from $500 to $5,000, with perks like VIP seating, logo placement and shoutouts during the event.
