Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC), the leading daily newspaper in the city of Atlanta, known for its in-depth local coverage, investigative journalism, and influence across the Southeastern U.S., named the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena a 2025 Top Workplace.

This recognition highlights organizations with 150 or more employees that have successfully cultivated exceptional workplace cultures – ones that prioritize people, elevates talent, and fosters a strong sense of community. This also marks the third time since 2021 that the organization has earned a spot in a Top Workplaces list, reinforcing its continued commitment to creating an environment where team members thrive.

More than 70,000 organizations were invited to participate in the Top Workplaces survey issued by Energage, an HR research and technology company. The winners were determined by authentic employee feedback captured through a confidential survey conducted by Energage.

“We are deeply grateful to the AJC for recognizing the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena as one of the nation’s best places to work, said Camye Mackey, Executive Vice President and Chief People, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena. “‘True to You’ is more than a slogan — it’s the heartbeat of our culture, built on respect, empowerment, and inclusion. This honor reflects the incredible energy, purpose, and commitment our team members bring every day, and it’s a shared achievement we celebrate together.”

Recipients are determined by comparing the engagement survey’s research-based statements, which measure key workplace factors like leadership, communication, and employee satisfaction, against responses from other organizations of similar size to identify those with outstanding cultures.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

Now in its 19th year, the Top Workplaces program has surveyed more than 23 million employees and has recognized top organizations across more than 65 markets for excellence in workplace culture.

Earlier this year, the Hawks and State Farm Arena were named by USA TODAY, the largest local-to-national publishing and digital media organization in the country, as a 2025 Top Workplace. Last year, they also were named as 2024 Best Employers in Sports by Front Office Sports, the multi-platform media and news organization covering the business of sports. The list featured the Hawks and State Farm Arena for the third year, and the organization was the only NBA team recognized on the list last year.
