Skanska, a global construction and development firm, recently partnered with Atlanta Tech Village and Atlanta Ventures to host BuildTech Connect ATL. This collaborative event featured an industry-leading panel focused on how AI is reshaping the built environment. As AI continues to influence how buildings are designed, constructed, operated, and maintained, Atlanta-based leaders in construction and technology shared firsthand insights into its real-world impact on today’s workflows. The discussion addressed key challenges to adoption, including data access, trust, and cultural barriers, while highlighting strategies for scaling these technologies responsibly.

Skanska recently launched four secure internal AI solutions and continues to integrate AI-assisted predictive analytics, digital twins, robotics, drones, and Building Information Modeling into its construction practices. These tools are used to enhance overall safety, improve operations, and provide data-informed outcomes for customers and communities.

The panel included industry leaders Sandeep Ahuja, CEO of Cove Tool; Bryan Dinner, CEO of Undaunted; and Michael Pink, CEO of SmartPM. They provided practical use cases for design automation, project controls and schedule forecasting, and facilities management and building operations.
