Atlanta-based Folia Group, developer of Sanctuaire Farms, has broken ground on The Grange, a 50-acre working farm designed to serve as the activity center and public-facing component of the visionary farmstead community in Ball Ground, Ga. When completed, The Grange will be open year-round to the public, offering subscriptions for fresh dairy products, eggs, and vegetables. It will also serve as the location for a farmer’s market, artisan market pavilions, farm education, gardening classes and more. www.sanctuairefarms.com
“The Grange has been designed to bring sustainable farming education and products to individuals and families who are interested in healthier ways of eating and living,” said Realtor® Chad Davis of Shirley Gary Group/Ansley Real Estate, who is managing property sales for the farmstead community. “It will feature garden plots with tool sheds, greenhouse space, a woodworking shed and workshop for those who want to experience the Sanctuaire lifestyle firsthand. In addition, classes and educational programs for the public will be scheduled, along with demonstrations and social events.”
Key features of the Grange include a Gathering Barn, Resource Center, Dairy Barn, Chapel, Greenhouses, Orchards and Bonfire Pits. The structures have been designed by J. Steven Kemp, project architect for Sanctuaire Farms.
“Ball Ground is an easy drive from Atlanta, Chattanooga and Gainesville. I invite the public to watch the Sanctuaire Farms website for information on upcoming events like Homesteading Weekend seminars, blacksmithing demonstrations, classes on bread making, gardening, quilting and other home-focused topics, as well as fun holiday programs including pumpkin picking and holiday decorating,” said Davis.
