Swift Currie's 15 Years of Supporting the State Bar of Georgia’s High School Pipeline Program
Friday, August 15th, 2025
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP is pleased to announce it once again served as a sponsoring firm of the High School Pipeline Program. As a Steering Committee Member, the firm has regularly sponsored this event either by hosting them for a day, volunteering to coach or volunteering to Judge the oral competition. The program is presented by the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program, the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys and Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, where the event was held from the week of June 17, 2025.
“We are honored to be a long-term supporter of the High School Pipeline Program and have the opportunity to connect with the younger generation to give them a firsthand look into the life of a lawyer,” said Martine Cumbermack, partner and chief of diversity at Swift Currie. “The program offers an opportunity for us as a firm to engage with high school students to help develop the next generation of exceptional talent, regardless of background, and share our insight and experiences to better prepare those for a potential career in law.”
The program offers an opportunity for students to prepare for college and ultimately law school. The program’s objective is to attract young people who are interested in pursuing a career in law and is designed to give them a glimpse of the critical skills they will need to pursue a higher education in law. Topics to be discussed include:
-
What it takes to be a lawyer;
-
What different practices of the law are like;
-
Social media etiquette; and,
-
A mock job interview skills challenge.
Students are involved in a week of immersive experiences — including mock trials, writing and oral competitions, professional development workshops and mentorship from legal professionals. The annual event is exclusive to 18 to 20 exceptional students who are selected through an application process. Swift Currie is honored to support the High School Pipeline Program for its 15th year.
