The development of the first Metro Climate Action Plan (MACAP)is in full swing. Now, we want to hear from you to help us refine the plan as we approach our Dec. 1 deadline.

We’ve created the MACAP Climate Priorities Survey to make it easy to share your thoughts. The input will help us prioritize strategies to address climate change and identify any challenges you see as roadblocks to putting these strategies into action.

The MACAP is designed to be a roadmap to create a more sustainable and healthier future for all of us, while identifying steps needed to reduce  greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Of course, this is a highly complex challenge. The climate action plan will focus on key strategies that can make a real difference in our region.

This means more options for people to walk, bike, or take public transportation. Making buildings more energy efficient. Increasing use of renewable energy sources like solar. And protecting and restoring natural lands.

The MACAP is funded by a Climate Pollution Reduction Grant from the federal EPA.
