Agnes Scott College is proud to announce it has received the 2025 Higher Education Excellence and Distinction (HEED) Award from Insight into Academia magazine, the oldest and largest inclusion-focused publication in higher education. This is the fifth year Agnes Scott College has received the HEED Award. The annual HEED Award is a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academic excellence, belonging, and community-building across all levels of campus life.

Agnes Scott College will be featured, along with 60 other recipients, in the October 2025 issue of Insight Into Academia magazine.

“At Agnes Scott, inclusion and belonging aren’t just values we talk about; they are principles we live by every day,” said Yves-Rose Porcena, vice president of global diversity and inclusion. “Receiving the HEED Award for the fifth time affirms our ongoing commitment to cultivating a campus culture where every voice is valued and every student is empowered to lead. This recognition reflects the intentional work of our entire community, and we’re proud to continue setting a standard for what inclusive excellence in higher education can look like.”

“We take a detailed and somewhat holistic approach to reviewing each application in determining who will be named a HEED Award recipient. Our standards are high, and we look for institutions where academic excellence and belonging are woven into the work being done every day across their campus,” says Lenore Pearlstein, co-publisher of Insight into Academia magazine.
