Atlanta Opera Releases 18 Cinematic Feature Opera Films

The Atlanta Opera Film Studio announces the release of 18 new cinematic opera films, bringing the grandeur of opera performance into homes around the world through its acclaimed streaming platform. These extraordinary releases, edited into richly produced films, are developed from live performances, additional filming done on stage and in studio, and meticulously mastered audio by The Atlanta Opera. The films will be available exclusively to subscribers ($25 annually) of the Film Studio beginning September 25, 2026.
The collection spans beloved classics, bold contemporary works, and groundbreaking interpretations, all brought to life through the innovative lens of The Atlanta Opera’s highly visual storytelling.
Featured titles include:
- Madama Butterfly
- Don Giovanni
- Bluebeard’s Castle
- The Barber of Seville
- La bohème
- The first three operas of Wagner’s legendary Ring Cycle: Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, and Siegfried
In addition to traditional masterpieces, the Film Studio will release modern and original works such as As One, Forsyth County is Flooding, and Steele Roots, reaffirming the company’s commitment to bold storytelling and diverse voices.
Tomer Zvulun, founder of the Film Studio and the company's Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. General & Artistic Director, is committed to expanding the impact of opera and sees the opera films as a key initiative for the company. He says:

Livestream Announcements: Four Major Operas to Stream Live, Free Worldwide
In addition to the cinematic releases, The Atlanta Opera is proud to announce four major upcoming livestreams of new productions, available to watch free of charge on the company’s streaming platform:
- La traviata — November 14, 2025 at 7:30pm EDT
- The Marriage of Figaro — March 20, 2026 at 7:30 EDT
- Turandot — May 1, 2026 at 7:30 EDT
- Twilight of the Gods (“Götterdämmerung”) — June 5, 2026 at 6:00 EDT
This final opera in Wagner's epic Ring Cycle marks a historic milestone for The Atlanta Opera. All livestreams will remain available for on-demand viewing after their premiere for a limited time until the full cinematic version is released.
As part of the Film Studio's commitment to high production standards, each livestream replay will be removed from the platform when its corresponding cinematic film becomes available. This ensures that subscribers receive the highest-quality viewing experience with each official release.
