CHRIS 180 has reopened its flagship Atlanta Counseling Center with a team of licensed clinicians and counseling interns offering trauma-informed, person-centered mental health services to individuals and families across metro Atlanta.

The center’s expanded services come at a pivotal time, as recent data shows nearly 1.4 million adults in Georgia experience mental illness each year, with demand for treatment continuing to rise. CHRIS 180’s reopening reflects a deepened commitment to meeting people wherever they are—whether they’re navigating daily stress, coping with persistent mental health conditions or healing from trauma.

“We’re proud to welcome the community back into a space that offers connection, healing and hope,” said Ashleigh Dennis-Silas, Vice President of Mental Health & Wellness at CHRIS 180. “Whether someone needs help managing anxiety, facing family struggles or simply finding someone to talk to, our team is here to provide support with dignity and compassion.”

The CHRIS 180 Atlanta Counseling Center offers a wide range of services, including:

  • Individual, family and group therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy Interventions

  • Psychiatric care

  • Solution-focused brief therapy, a short-term, strengths-based approach that helps people build on what’s working in their lives to achieve meaningful change quickly

  • In-person and telehealth sessions available in English and Spanish, with additional support available for clients in many languages

  • Culturally responsive care for children, teens, and adults at every stage of life

As part of its broader mission, CHRIS 180 also supports the development of the next generation of mental health professionals. The center serves as a practicum site for graduate-level counseling students in their final stage of training, who work under the direct supervision of licensed clinicians. This clinical training model ensures the delivery of high-quality care while strengthening Georgia’s future behavioral health workforce.

The CHRIS 180 Atlanta Counseling Center is part of CHRIS 180’s broader continuum of services, which includes school-based mental health, community clubhouse programs and partnerships with organizations like Café Momentum, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), DFCS, At-Promise Centers, Destination Tomorrow, FreeRent.com and Lost and Found. As a pioneer in trauma-informed care, CHRIS 180 continues to deliver mental health support where it’s needed most.

While telehealth remains an option, many clients are eager to return in person for the sense of community and connection it offers. “This is more than a counseling center,” said Dennis-Silas. “It’s a place where people can be seen, heard, and supported as they heal, live, and thrive.”
