Metro Atlanta County Cuts Back On 2026 Budget Proposal

Gwinnett County has formally rolled out its 2026 budget proposal, a $2.6 billion plan that includes nearly $70 million in cuts compared to the current budget.
Commission Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson says every department was instructed to review its spending line by line and identify savings. “People are struggling to make ends meet and we felt that it was a responsible thing to do, to look inward at our budget, find savings, cut unnecessary waste while still delivering quality services,” she said.
