JLL today announced that SouthState Bank has officially moved into its new 87,000-square-foot regional headquarters at Prominence in Buckhead. The relocation consolidates several Atlanta offices into one central location and establishes SouthState as the building’s largest tenant. The new location features building-top signage that elevates its brand and visibility in one of Atlanta’s top business districts. JLL Executive Managing Director Josh Hirsh and Executive Vice President Patrick Baughman represented SouthState in the transaction.
Headquartered in Winter Haven, Florida, SouthState continues to strengthen its presence across the Southeast. The move to Prominence reflects the company’s broader strategy to create regional hubs in key growth markets, which also includes Charlotte, Tampa and Dallas. The new Buckhead office spans three and a half floors and brings more than 175 local employees together in a cohesive space designed to foster collaboration, connectivity and long-term growth. The headquarters is also home to a new flagship retail branch on the building’s ground floor, designed to provide clients with a premium banking experience and reinforce the bank’s connection to the surrounding community.
“Atlanta represents a critical hub for SouthState, and this move marks an exciting next chapter in our continued expansion,” said BJ Green, group president at SouthState Bank. “Our new space at Prominence allows us to bring our teams together under one roof and strengthen our connection with the community we serve.”
Located at 3475 Piedmont Rd NE, Prominence is a 19-story Class-A office building in the heart of Buckhead. The property recently underwent $8 million in renovation to modernize the building and offer a full suite of tenant amenities, including a conference facility, lobby coffee bar, fitness center, bike storage room and a seven-level attached parking garage.
“SouthState’s move to Prominence highlights a growing focus among companies seeking to unite teams within well-located, high-quality office environments,” said JLL’s Baughman. “By consolidating operations and integrating a retail branch at street level, SouthState is positioning itself for continued growth while deepening its presence and visibility in one of Atlanta’s most dynamic corridors.”
According to JLL’s Financial Services Portfolio of Tomorrow, Atlanta’s financial services employment is expanding by 9.6%, underscoring the city’s emergence as a hub for banking technology, operations and innovation centers. SouthState’s decision to anchor itself in Prominence aligns with how leading financial institutions are restructuring their real estate strategies by consolidating operations in markets that offer proximity to talent, connectivity and flexibility.
