Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company is proud to share two leadership announcements from its Atlanta office, further highlighting the construction company’s rapid growth and expansion in the southeast market and beyond.

Scott Stamey, previously Cooper Tacia’s Executive Vice President and Southeast Division Manager, has been promoted to President of the Southeast Region. George Knuckles, an experienced leader in construction management, joined the Cooper Tacia team as the Southeast Division Manager in late September.

Stamey, a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), has over two decades of experience at the helm of several successful engineering and construction management teams. He oversees Cooper Tacia’s southeastern region’s design-build, construction management and general contracting teams from pre-construction to close-out.

“Cooper Tacia continues to experience tremendous growth and we’re proud of the impact our work is making,” says Stamey. “Our expansion represents a meaningful investment in the southeast as we continue to strengthen our presence and deliver lasting value for our clients via the projects we bring to life.”

Knuckles, who has focused his 20+ year career on building strong partnerships and fostering a capable and high-performing team, has worked on some of the southeast’s most complex and high-profile projects including the $210 million CDC Building 108, the $275 million Phipps Plaza Redevelopment, the Cameron Indoor Stadium addition at Duke University, the CoxHealth Branson Emergency Department and the historic MLK Jr. Federal Building renovation, which achieved LEED Gold certification.

“I’m thrilled to be working at a place like Cooper Tacia, where there’s a constant entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset,” says Knuckles. “The team is full of go-getters and the company itself is young, hungry and defined by a sense of initiative and strong work ethic.”

Both Stamey’s and Knuckles’s efforts are supported by Sheryl Alberico, Vice President of Business Development, who leads efforts to strategically expand Cooper Tacia’s client base and enhance revenue by investing in the community, strengthening key relationships and spearheading results-driven action plans across the region.

Looking ahead, Cooper Tacia’s Southeast Division is poised to work on construction projects in the civic realm throughout metro Atlanta and its surrounding counties – such as the expansion of the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett.

To date, the Southeast Division has earned a lineup of industrial and municipal project wins totaling over $100 million in revenue, including:

“My top priorities in my first few months are all about people, and making sure the groundwork is in place for a consistent team that represents Cooper Tacia,” says Knuckles. “When we meet with potential clients, we’re not just pitching a project – we’re showcasing the individuals behind it. I want our team’s strength and consistency to speak for itself, so when we tell clients what we’ll deliver, they know we will follow through every time.”
