Insurance Provider Sues BioLab for $20M Over 2024 Conyers Chemical Fire

 An insurance company is seeking more than $20 million from BioLab and its parent companies, alleging the manufacturer’s safety failures triggered the 2024 chemical fire in Conyers that sent a toxic plume across Rockdale County and left a lasting impact on the residents in its community and those throughout metro Atlanta.

 

Verlan Fire Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Hanover Insurance, filed the complaint in federal court, arguing that BioLab, KIK International and KIK Custom Products are responsible for losses tied to the warehouse blaze.
