The Atlanta Commercial Board (ACBR) has announced the appointment of Jeff Shaw, a local commercial real estate (CRE) veteran with over 30 years of experience in the industry, as its newest president beginning on January 1, 2026. In this role, Shaw will set the organization's priorities for 2026 and serve as a leading advocate for Atlanta’s CRE industry.
“Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand how important it is for CRE professionals to have a strong, unified voice in order to make a significant impact on the industry and community,” said Shaw. “I’m honored to be selected as the next president, and look forward to expanding our powerful membership base and influence in Atlanta.”
Under Shaw’s leadership, ACBR’s 2026 focus areas include:
-
Growing its membership base and expanding awareness of the newly implemented membership structure, which offers two tiers that both provide the valuable benefits of the ACBR, from resources to networking.
-
Continuing to support the greater Atlanta community with ongoing philanthropic efforts. This year, the organization has proactively raised over $100,000 to support the community.
-
Expanding the reach of ACBR’s political action committee efforts to influence legislation at the local level to identify risks that directly impacts the CRE community. In 2025, this included zoning law and tree ordinance changes.
As a senior managing director emeritus at Bridge Investment Group, Shaw most recently served as CEO of Bridge Commercial Real Estate from 2018 to 2024. Across his career, Shaw has held executive positions at a number of national brokerage firms including Cushman & Wakefield, JLL and CBRE.
Shaw has personally executed thousands of leases in multiple states, with awards including Most Admired CEO 2022 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle; Top Ten Commercial Office Leasing Broker for 2021-2022 and Top Five for 2023-2024 by ACBR; and the 2025 Alvin B. Cates Award by ACBR, which recognizes the top real estate transaction for the year. He also served as the 2024-2026 chair of the National Philanthropy Committee for the Blood Cancer United, formerly Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is a past board member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he volunteers as chair for Leadership Ministries, a national men’s ministry headquartered in Atlanta.
“I have continued to witness the immense footprint our professionals have not only in CRE locally and nationally, but within our community where their impact benefits causes that are greater than just our industry,” said Shaw. “Whether new to the industry or an experienced commercial veteran, ACBR equips our members with the necessary tools and relationships needed to find strength, purpose, and success on both a professional and personal level.”
The ACBR was founded in 1910 as the Atlanta Real Estate Board, and has since played a significant role in the growth of organized real estate in Georgia. It is one of the largest commercial real estate associations in the nation with over 2,400 members, made up of the top leaders within Atlanta’s CRE industry. It provides local CRE professionals with access to real estate information and resources, mentorship, accredited continuing education, networking events, community outreach opportunities and legislative advocacy with a brand foundation in ethics and moral practices. Shaw is preceded by Chris Ahrenkiel, who held the presidency in 2025. Heather Lamb has been selected as the president for 2027.
“It has been a privilege to serve as president of the ACBR for the past year, and I’m proud of the progress we have made as an organization in elevating our presence both locally and nationally,” said Ahrenkiel. “Jeff is a highly respected leader with a deep commitment to both his profession and his community, and I know he will lead our organization with integrity. The ACBR’s future is bright under his leadership, and we have big plans for 2026 as we continue to expand our membership opportunities and impact on Atlanta’s CRE community.”
