Friday, December 19th, 2025

The Greater South Fulton County Chamber of Commerce announced Sunday the appointment of Kathy Booker as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Booker will succeed Dyan Matthews, who will retire Dec. 31, 2025, after 15 years of service in the organization's top executive position.

Additionally, Walter Vinson, who has served as Chair of the Chamber's Board of Directors, will step down from his position. John Culbreth will assume the role of Board Chair.

The leadership changes were celebrated on Sunday at the Adonis Finest Awards Ceremony, which took place at Jazzy J's Event Hall in College Park. Andre Goolsby of Adonis Fleet hosted the ceremony for the Chamber.

Contributions of the outgoing leaders were delivered as a presentation while formally introducing the new leadership team, which was also a part of the event.

“Kathy brings a wealth of business acumen and community commitment to this role,” said Vinson, Assistant General Manager of Business Diversity and Government Affairs at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. “Her leadership will build on the strong foundation Dyan has established over the past 15 years.”

Matthews, who earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from Morris Brown College, has served as President and CEO since February 2010. During her tenure, she previously worked as Chief of Staff to the Fulton County Commission and held the position of Media Relations Manager at the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games.

Booker's appointment represents an important milestone for the organization, established in 1947, which serves the larger South Fulton area, including eight cities across South Fulton County.

The Chamber aims to foster collaboration for business growth and expansion by attracting, retaining, and promoting the business interests of South Fulton.
