Swift Currie Adds to Litigation and CCL Practices with Four Associates in Atlanta

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP is pleased to announce the addition of four attorneys in the Atlanta office, including Doraly Blanton and Aaron Ruffin on the firm’s Commercial Coverage and Litigation team and Grace Mitchell and David Wright on the Litigation team. The four attorneys follow the firm’s 16 additions announced in October, highlighting the firm’s strategic growth throughout 2025 as Swift Currie celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Doraly Blanton is an associate on the Coverage and Commercial Litigation team. She previously served as a legal assistant and judicial clerk in the Western District of Missouri, researching and drafting legal documents and documenting law firm expenditures. Blanton is a fluent Spanish speaker and is also skilled in Russian, especially after spending six-weeks in Saint Petersburg and Moscow learning about the state’s economic, social, and political relevance to foreign affairs. In the community, she volunteers with the University of Georgia’s Mock Trial program. During law school Doraly externed with the District Court of North Georgia and Superior Court of the Western Judicial Circuit and was an editorial board member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. Additionally, she served as class president, executive vice president, and student body president with the Student Bar Association. Blanton earned her bachelor’s in international affairs from the University of Georgia and her juris doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Grace Mitchell is an associate in the Litigation practice. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit. While attending law school, she completed an externship with the Northern District of Georgia as part of their Federal Defender Program, completed an internship and externship with the Office of the Public Defender in DeKalb County, and served as a legal intern for the Hearings unit of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Mitchell has also contributed to the legal profession through her work as a member of the State Bar of Georgia Business Law and Appellate Practice section, along with her roles as a legal research volunteer for the Family Equality Council and an election protection volunteer for the New Georgia Project. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida and her juris doctor from the Emory University School of Law.

Aaron Ruffin is an associate in the Coverage and Commercial Litigation practice group. His practice has historically focused on defending a wide range of lawsuits from individual and multi-plaintiff claims to complex toxic torts, mass torts, consumer class actions, and multi-district litigation (MDLs) for clients, including large pharmaceutical and oil companies. Ruffin is also well-versed as a residential and commercial property insurance defense attorney. He has been named to the National Bar Association’s 2024 Top 40 Attorneys Under 40 list and currently serves as its Region V Director. He was a part of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Men of Color Project and is currently a member of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society. He has also served his community as a Teach for America corp member, president of the board of directors with the Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana and participated in the 2024 Pathfinder Class of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Ruffin earned his bachelor’s in economics from Brown University and his juris doctor from The George Washington University School of Law.

David Wright is an associate in the Litigation practice group. He has spent over a decade handling complex litigation and transactional matters. Most recently, he was an attorney at a boutique corporate and M&A law firm where he served as an advisor for high value M&A transactions. Prior to his work in transactions, Wright managed civil litigation involving wrongful death, catastrophic injury and commercial disputes and he has defended corporations in complex litigation for trucking, construction and premises liability matters. He earned his bachelor's in English Language & Literature from the University of South Carolina and his juris doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.
