On Saturday, December 13, Atlanta CASA marked a significant milestone, celebrating 30 years of service to children and families in Fulton County with its 30th Anniversary Sneaker Ball Gala, held at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta in the Grand Ballroom.

More than 200 community leaders, volunteers, judicial partners, and supporters gathered to commemorate Atlanta CASA’s 30-year legacy of child advocacy. The milestone celebration generated more than $30,000 in critical funding to expand volunteer recruitment, training, and advocacy services for children involved in the juvenile court system.

Hosted by Tyisha Fernandes of WSB-TV, the evening blended elegance with purpose through a sneaker ball theme, symbolizing Atlanta CASA’s commitment to meeting children where they are while continuing to move advocacy forward.

The program featured a powerful keynote address by Judge Glenda Hatchett, whose remarks emphasized the importance of accountability, advocacy, and community responsibility in protecting children and strengthening families. Her message highlighted the critical role CASA volunteers play in ensuring children’s voices are heard and their best interests are represented within the court system.

“For 30 years, Atlanta CASA has ensured that children navigating the court system are not alone,” said Domonique Cooper, Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta CASA. “This anniversary honors the volunteers, partners, and judicial leaders who have carried this mission forward, and it reminds us that progress never stops. I am grateful to every stakeholder who has chosen to support Atlanta CASA with their time, talent, treasure, and vision. Because of this collective commitment, we are able to continue expanding advocacy so that every child who needs a CASA has one.”

Founded in 1995, Atlanta CASA has served thousands of children across Fulton County by providing trained volunteer advocates appointed by judges to represent children’s best interests. CASA volunteers build meaningful relationships with children, collaborate with families and professionals, and provide informed recommendations to the court to help achieve safe, stable, and permanent outcomes.

As Atlanta CASA looks ahead, the organization remains focused on strengthening community partnerships, expanding volunteer recruitment, and ensuring that every child who needs a CASA advocate has one by their side.
