Chairwoman Hendrickson to Serve First Ball at Atlanta Vibe Game
Friday, January 9th, 2026
Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson will take center court this Sunday, Jan. 11, when she serves the ceremonial First Serve at the Atlanta Vibe’s home match at Gas South Arena.
The First Serve coincides with the presentation of a proclamation from the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners recognizing the Atlanta Vibe for its impact on the community and for embracing the County’s One Gwinnett theme during the 2025 season.
“The Atlanta Vibe represents what One Gwinnett looks like in action,” said Hendrickson. “They inspire our community, especially our young people and demonstrate the power of teamwork, leadership and shared purpose both on and off the court.”
The proclamation presented during a recent Board of Commissioners meeting highlighted the Atlanta Vibe’s role in bringing residents together, elevating professional women’s sports in Gwinnett County and reflecting the values outlined in the Chairwoman’s 2025 State of the County Address -- unity, collaboration and moving forward as one.
“We are proud to call Gwinnett home and for our team to be part of 'One Gwinnett,” Atlanta Vibe Owner Colleen Craig said. "The support for the Atlanta Vibe from this community and Chairwoman Hendrickson gives us an unrivaled home court advantage."
As Gwinnett’s professional women’s volleyball team, the Atlanta Vibe competes at Gas South Arena, drawing fans from across the county and region. In a short time, the team has built a passionate following while serving as a visible example of opportunity and excellence in women’s sports.
Hendrickson also encouraged residents to attend the kick-off game this Thursday, Jan. 8.
