Children’s Museum of Atlanta has named Erin Brooks as its Director of Strategic Advancement. A seasoned nonprofit leader with more than a decade of experience in development, foundation and corporate relations, Brooks will lead the Museum’s fundraising strategy to advance its mission of sparking imagination, discovery and learning through the power of play.
“Erin brings an extraordinary blend of strategic fundraising expertise and a deep commitment to equity and early childhood opportunity,” said Edwin Link, executive director of Children’s Museum of Atlanta. “Her ability to build meaningful donor relationships and secure transformational support will be instrumental as we expand access to play-based learning for children and families across our region.”
Brooks joins the Museum from Augusta University, where she served as Senior Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, managing all foundation and corporate partnerships across the university, including those supporting the Medical College of Georgia and the Dental College of Georgia. During her tenure, she successfully secured gifts of up to $2.2 million from corporations and $1 million from foundations to support scholarships, academic programs, conferences and arts initiatives.
Previously, Brooks held development leadership roles with organizations including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, Our House, Inc. and the American College of Rheumatology. Across these roles, she managed complex grant portfolios, cultivated donor relationships and supported programs focused on health equity, early education, literacy and community well-being.
“Children’s Museum of Atlanta plays a vital role in ensuring children and families have access to meaningful early learning experiences,” said Brooks. “I’m honored to join an organization so deeply committed to equity, creativity and the power of play, and I look forward to working with partners across the community to advance this important mission.”
Brooks earned her law degree from Yale Law School and a B.A. summa cum laude in English from Hampton University. She has also served in leadership roles on nonprofit boards, including as secretary of The Foundation of the Museum School of Avondale Estates.
