Monday, January 5th, 2026
After four decades leading Selig Enterprises through unprecedented growth and transformation, CEO Steve Selig today announced that Mindy Selig and Greg Lewis will assume the roles of Co-CEOs at the start of the new year. Steve Selig will transition to Chairman of the Board, continuing his involvement with the 108-year-old family company.
Steve Selig’s Legacy of Growth, Stewardship and Vision
Since becoming President in 1986 and later CEO, Steve Selig has guided Selig Enterprises through one of the most dynamic eras in Atlanta’s commercial real estate history. Under his leadership, the company has:
- Expanded and diversified its portfolio to more than 15 million square feet across 250+ properties and 1,200 tenants. Most notable projects include:
- 1010 Midtown, 1075 Peachtree, Loews Atlanta, 77 12th, and 60 11th—along with Plaza Midtown, catalyzing Midtown Atlanta’s transformation and helping advance the vision of Blueprint Midtown and the Midtown Alliance.
- 1105 West Peachtree, a three-tower landmark mixed-use development delivered in 2021, which includes a 675,000-square-foot office tower, most notably home to Google’s Southeast headquarters; 40 West 12th luxury residences; and Epicurean Atlanta.
- The Works, an 80-acre adaptive mixed-use development on Atlanta’s Upper Westside which has grown to be an award-winning destination for the region.
- City Springs, a 14-acre public-private partnership in which Selig co-developed in Sandy Springs, combining retail, residential, government offices, public spaces, and a performing arts center, helping establish a vibrant civic and cultural hub for the community.
- Acquired AAA Parking
- Founded Dakota Contractors with son Blake Selig
Invested deeply in civic and cultural commitments, shaping Atlanta beyond the built environment - Cultivated a high-performing leadership team, preparing the company for its next generation
- “Our company has always made decisions with the goal of growth for generations,” said Steve Selig. “This long-term perspective has guided our growth and helped establish our reputation for quality projects, integrity, and lasting relationships. I am incredibly proud of the team we’ve assembled and the culture they embody every day. Mindy and Greg share those same values, and I have complete confidence in their leadership of the company.”
Beyond his impact on real estate, Steve Selig has been a longtime civic, cultural, and philanthropic leader in Atlanta. He has served on several boards, including Atlanta Housing Authority, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Central Atlanta Progress, Alliance Theatre, Woodruff Arts Center, the University of Georgia Foundation, and several Atlanta schools, and his family endowed the Selig Center for Economic Growth at UGA. He is a founding member of Camp Twin Lakes, a supporter of Camp Sunshine, and a former President of the National Kidney Foundation, and has held advisory roles with the Shepherd Center and Leukemia Society. Steve spent four years, from 1976 to 1980, at The White House in Washington, DC, serving as a Deputy Assistant to President Jimmy Carter, acting as his chief liaison to the national business community, before returning to Atlanta to lead the company.
Within the Jewish community, he has served as President of the Atlanta Jewish Federation, National Campaign Chair for The Jewish Federation of North America, and Past President of both The Temple and the American Jewish Committee.
His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Morehouse College Salute to Excellence Award, the Council for Quality Growth’s Four Pillar Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and the Atlanta Business Chronicle Visionary Award
A Moment Poised for the Future
With a strong, well-positioned portfolio, longstanding relationships and a seasoned leadership team, Selig Enterprises enters this transition from a place of exceptional strength. Over the past decade, Mindy and Greg have taken on meaningful executive responsibilities across leasing, management, acquisitions, development, operations, and civic engagement. Their combined leadership reflects the collaborative culture Steve championed—one rooted in long-term thinking, disciplined execution, and community impact.
Over a Century of Family Legacy
Founded in 1918 by Steve’s grandfather, Ben Massell, Selig Enterprises has shaped Atlanta’s skyline through notable projects such as Buckhead Triangle, The District at Howell Mill, Plaza Midtown, 12th & Midtown, Loews Atlanta, The Works, 1105 West Peachtree, and the Epicurean Atlanta. The company’s history is marked by multi-generational leadership and a deep commitment to civic service. Steve worked closely with his father, Simon Selig, and later, alongside his sister Cathy Selig, mentored his daughter Mindy, nephew Greg, and numerous executive leaders. Steve’s son, Scott Selig, played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s development efforts and left an enduring imprint on the organization before his passing in 2017 at the age of 47 after a battle with cancer. His vision and creativity continue to influence the company. Today, several members of the Selig family continue contributing to board governance and strategic direction.
The Fourth Generation Steps Forward
Mindy Selig, most recently Senior Vice President of Retail Leasing, oversaw a 4-million-square-foot retail portfolio and contributed broadly to daily operations. She serves as President of the American Jewish Committee, Co-Chair of The Temple’s Capital Campaign and sits on the boards of The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, The Carter Center, Camp Sunshine and is active with Rotary Club of Atlanta and Leadership Atlanta.
“My father has been my greatest example of how to lead—with purpose, humility and a genuine care for people,” said Mindy. “He showed me that relationships are the foundation of our business. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned from him and proud to help carry that legacy into the future.”
Greg Lewis, son of co-owner Cathy Selig, was formerly Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development, and joined the company in 2018 after selling his previous business. He has focused on analyzing investments and the redevelopment of the existing portfolio, identifying new acquisition and development opportunities, and representing Selig in the business community. Greg serves on the boards of Central Atlanta Progress, Woodward Academy, Council for Quality Growth, West End CID, American Jewish Committee, and Partners for Home, and is an active member of YPO.
“Mindy and I share a clear, unified vision for the future, and that alignment gives us tremendous momentum as we look ahead,” said Lewis. “With a robust and diverse portfolio, longstanding relationships that continue to deepen, and an exceptionally talented team driving our efforts, we are positioned not just to meet the opportunities coming our way, but to truly excel as they emerge. The foundation we’ve built together gives me great confidence in the road ahead.”
“Steve’s leadership has shaped not only our company, but the culture and community we have built around it,” said Cathy Selig, co-owner. “Seeing Greg and Mindy step into these roles with such clarity and purpose gives me great confidence in the future of Selig Enterprises.”
Looking Ahead
The leadership transition occurs as the company advances a strategic planning process focused on reinforcing its competitive strengths, unlocking new opportunities, and continuing its multi-generational commitment to community-minded development.
As Chairman, Steve Selig will remain engaged in guiding the company while also enjoying time with the fifth generation—his 12 grandchildren—who he hopes will one day carry the legacy forward.
