In this role, Carson will manage the residential development process, including site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, design, financing and execution through delivery. Additionally, Carson will be responsible for managing the firm’s active developments, including Meadow Glen Village, a 332-unit mixed-use and multifamily community with retail and green space in Fairburn, Georgia.
“Portman’s development track record sets it apart as one of the best in the industry,” said Carson. “I see a meaningful opportunity to expand the firm’s residential platform in Georgia by responding thoughtfully to market demand. With the depth of talent and resources at Portman, our platform is positioned for continued growth and success.”
Previously, Carson served as Managing Director at Mill Creek Residential Trust, where he led the firm’s Georgia development platform. Over the course of his career, Carson has been involved in the development of more than 3,000 multifamily homes that represent a total capitalization exceeding $1.2 billion. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Clemson University.
“Bringing Phil on board marks an important step forward for our residential team’s strategic initiatives," said Harvey Wadsworth, Managing Director of Residential at Portman. “His extensive background and expertise in Georgia’s residential market will play a pivotal role as we look to enhance our footprint in the market.”
Portman’s residential team has developed over 20,000 residential units.
