Tommy Nobis Center Welcomes John Torres to Board of Directors

Tommy Nobis Center (TNC), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through employment, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Torres to its Board of Directors. Torres brings more than 30 years of experience in learning strategy, talent development, and organizational effectiveness, strengthening TNC’s mission to empower people with disabilities through employment.
Torres currently serves as Senior Vice President and Academy Executive at Bank of America, where he leads the Academy for Retail Credit Operations. In this role, he sets the learning strategy and leads the design and delivery of learning programs that build leadership capability and drive operational excellence across the organization.
Throughout his career, Torres has held senior leadership roles at global companies including Honeywell International, WestRock, and Rollins, Inc. He is known for advancing enterprise-wide talent strategies and leading organizational transformation by aligning people, processes, and culture to achieve sustainable results.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Torres is deeply committed to workforce development and community engagement. He serves on the advisory board for Georgia Learns Now and actively mentors through the Atlanta Collaborative Mentoring Program, the HOLA Power of 10 Program, and the Association for Talent Development Atlanta Chapter. He also provides pro bono career coaching to individuals navigating career transitions.

Torres studied Business Management at SUNY Empire State College and is a Registered Corporate Coach, Six Sigma Green Belt, and holds multiple certifications in leadership and organizational development.
