Gateway announced today that its Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Amy Splittgerber as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer. Splittgerber will officially begin her role on February 9, 2026.

Splittgerber brings more than 30 years of mission-driven nonprofit leadership, with extensive experience guiding organizations through growth, change management, and community impact initiatives. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Healthy Learners, where she led statewide service delivery, tripled the organization’s budget over five years, and expanded access to critical healthcare services for thousands of children.

“Amy is a deeply mission-aligned leader who understands how to build strong teams, cultivate partnerships, and deliver meaningful outcomes,” said Jordan O. Smith, Chair of Gateway’s Board of Directors. “Her leadership style, values, and experience make her exceptionally well-suited to guide Gateway into its next chapter.”

The Board conducted a nine-month national CEO search with support from Find Great People, a nationally recognized executive search firm. The process included a robust review of candidates, multiple rounds of interviews, and engagement with Gateway staff and members.

Splittgerber is known for her collaborative, people-centered leadership approach and her ability to pair strategic vision with operational excellence. She has held senior leadership roles with the South Carolina Alliance of YMCAs and the South Carolina Eat Smart, Move More Coalition, where she led statewide advocacy efforts and built sustainable organizational infrastructure.

“I am honored to join Gateway and am inspired by its mission and the potential to serve more individuals in the Upstate,” said Splittgerber. “I look forward to listening, learning, and partnering with staff, members, and community supporters as we continue building a place where everyone belongs and thrives.”

As part of this leadership transition, current interim CEO Randy Redlinger will move into the role of Chief Operating Officer, providing continuity and operational leadership during this next phase of growth.
