Mimms Museum of Technology and Art Announces Spring Event Schedule
Friday, February 20th, 2026
The Mimms Museum of Technology and Art (Mimms Museum), a metro Atlanta nonprofit featuring one of the world's largest collections of digital-era artifacts and technology-inspired artwork, is hosting a diverse lineup of engaging events this spring. Designed to spark curiosity across generations, the museum invites members of the community to participate in expert-led tech talks and hands-on workshops, along with family-friendly experiences and the opening of its newest exhibit, iNSPIRE: Fifty Years of Innovation from Apple.
“We are proud of the event schedule we’ve put together this spring, as it truly does offer something for everyone – from those with a deep passion for innovation and technology to first-time museum visitors who are interested in seeing what all the buzz is about,” said Elaine Pelaia, director of museum operations. “We believe technology and art connect people, and we are committed to creating a space where our visitors can explore the intersection of technology and art.”
As part of the museum’s ongoing Talking Tech series, Richard Ediger will lead a discussion on the Apple II computer on Saturday, February 21, at 2 p.m. to celebrate the upcoming Apple exhibition. With four decades of experience as a research scientist for a multinational corporation, Ediger has been at the forefront of computing technologies and will share his experience owning one of the first Apple IIs.
Modern Calligraphy for Beginners, set for Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m., is a hands-on workshop teaching the fundamentals of modern calligraphy. Families can also experience computing history in action at the monthly Punch Card Machine Demo, on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m., which showcases the history of the punch card. Attendees will be able to punch their very own souvenir card on an original IBM 029 during this popular event. Additionally, the museum will open before its regular hours on select Saturdays beginning at 11 a.m. for Sensory-Friendly Mornings. Video volumes will be turned down, flashing lights turned off and headphones and wheelchairs will both be available for checkout, welcoming anyone who may benefit from enjoying the museum’s activities in a less stimulating environment.
On Saturday, March 21, at 6 p.m., the museum will close to host its annual fundraising gala, BYTE26, bringing the community together to celebrate the impact of inspiring innovation through museum programming and exhibitions. The event will mark the exclusive debut of iNSPIRE: Fifty Years of Innovation from Apple, the museum’s landmark exhibition exploring Apple’s legacy and influence for BYTE26 event attendees. The exhibit will house more than 2,000 curated artifacts with interactive features to engage visitors, showcasing the creativity and innovation of one of techs most-known brands.
Following BYTE26, museum members can get a first look at the iNSPIRE exhibition from Sunday, March 22 to Sunday, March 29 before it opens to the public on Wednesday, April 1. Tickets for BYTE26 and information on becoming a member are available on the museum website.
In addition to its spring events, registration for Mimms Museum’s popular summer camp series will open on Wednesday, March 4, at 9 a.m. for Roswell residents. Non-resident registration begins on Wednesday, March 11. Summer camps at Mimms Museums offer a variety of educational STEAM topics including robotics, artificial intelligence, coding, Minecraft, Roblox, cybersecurity and Python.
Regular admission rates apply for all events, while members of the museum can enjoy free entry (with the exception of the BYTE26 fundraiser). For more information on the museum’s event programming and calendar of events, visit MimmsMuseum.org/Events.
