SRTC and KSU Sign New Articulation Agreement for Early Childhood Education Program
Wednesday, February 11th, 2026
Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) and Kennesaw State University (KSU) have signed a comprehensive articulation agreement that creates a clear academic pathway for students pursuing careers in education. The agreement allows students who complete an Associate of Science Degree in Education at SRTC to seamlessly transfer to KSU to earn a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
This partnership represents a significant expansion of educational opportunities for students in the region, making it more affordable and accessible to begin their college journey at SRTC and continue to a four-year degree at one of Georgia's largest universities. The agreement also addresses the critical teacher shortage facing Georgia and the region. Research shows that teachers are more likely to work in the same state that they grew up and went to school in, making this partnership a strategic investment in building the local educator workforce and increasing the number of qualified teachers serving the region's schools.
"This articulation agreement is a game-changer for students who choose a career in education," said SRTC President Jim Glass. "We're providing a clear, affordable pathway for students who want to become certified teachers. They can start here, close to home, and know exactly how their credits will transfer to complete their bachelor's degree at KSU."
Under this agreement, students who complete their A.S. in Education at SRTC will have their credits fully recognized by KSU, eliminating duplicate coursework and saving both time and money. The agreement also includes a reverse transfer option, allowing students who transfer to KSU before completing their associate degree to have their KSU credits sent back to SRTC at no charge to earn their A.S. degree while working toward their bachelor's degree.
"Kennesaw State University is committed to increasing access to high-quality teacher preparation programs," said Sheb True, Vice Provost of KSU. "This partnership with Southern Regional Technical College ensures that students can begin their education locally and graduate with the credentials they need to make a difference in Georgia's classrooms."
