Tommy Nobis Center Welcomes Karen Dernavich as Vice President of Programs

Tommy Nobis Center (TNC), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through employment, is pleased to announce the addition of Karen Dernavich as Vice President of Programs. In this role, Karen will lead Tommy Nobis Center’s array of programs and set the vision and strategy for forward-thinking, innovative services that advance the organization’s mission.

Karen brings a deep history with Tommy Nobis Center, having served for several years as a dedicated volunteer and advocate. She has contributed her time and leadership to TNC’s Capital Campaign Committee and Galaxy of Stars Committee, helping raise critical funds and awareness for the organization. In recognition of her service and commitment, Karen was honored as TNC’s 2024 Galaxy of Stars Community Champion Award recipient.

Most recently, Karen served as Director of Client Success at Jabian Consulting, a highly respected consulting firm known for helping organizations solve complex internal challenges and drive transformation. In this position, Karen led teams, fostered strong client relationships, and delivered solutions that produced measurable results. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia.  Her experience in organizational transformation, team development, and program execution will directly support TNC’s continued growth and evolution.

Karen is also deeply committed to serving the disability community. She is the founder of The Duet Project, a Georgia-based nonprofit that provides music therapy scholarships for children and adults with disabilities. Through this work, she has established strong partnerships with social agencies, schools, and government organizations, further demonstrating her ability to build collaborative relationships that create lasting outcomes. Karen is known as a talented connector, communicator, and innovator who fosters cultures of trust, accountability, and results. Karen’s leadership will play a key role in shaping the future of Tommy Nobis Center’s programs and services.
