Ameris Bank Commits to Donate More Than $2 Million Among 25 Georgia Hospital Organizations
Wednesday, March 11th, 2026
Ameris Bank will donate $2,039,000 to a total of 25 hospitals across the state this year as part of the Georgia HEART Hospital Program.
“Rural hospitals in particular often depend on contributions to keep up with the latest innovations in medical care,” said Ameris Bank CEO Palmer Proctor. “Our donated funds will be available for a variety of needs, including facility and equipment improvements, construction of new treatment facilities, and general operating costs.”
The 2026 HEART donations from Ameris will reach medical organizations in the following Georgia cities: Americus, Bremen, Cochran, Colquitt, Cordelle, Dahlonega, Demorest, Donalsonville, Douglas, Eastman, Eatonton, Hinesville, Homerville, Jackson, Madison, Milledgeville, Millen, Monticello, Moultrie, Quitman, Springfield, St. Mary’s, Sylvester, Thomasville and Tifton.
The Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit was instituted in 2017 for Georgia businesses and taxpayers to redirect Georgia income tax liability to support hospitals.
“The Georgia HEART Program has proven to be effective. It enables companies to contribute so that communities can receive higher quality healthcare while hospitals better manage costs. That is a win-win for everyone,” Proctor said.
