Atlanta Public Schools (APS), which serves approximately 50,000 students and their families, has received the 2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA) for strengths development. This award recognizes workplace cultures that achieve more by helping employees focus on what they do best. This is the second consecutive year APS has been named a GEWA winner.
Despite ongoing disruption and rapid change across the workplace, Gallup found that APS remained deeply committed to developing its people. Through an emphasis on strengths, APS invests in what individuals and teams do best, maximizing potential within teams and delivering sustainable outcomes.
“This achievement directly reflects our strategic plan’s focus area, Our Strength Is Our Team, which emphasizes investing in our people,” said APS Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson. “The GEWA recognition demonstrates the progress we are making in developing our staff and ensuring every student in Atlanta Public Schools is supported by effective, engaged teachers, leaders, and staff.”
